If you're anything like us, you've made a few New Years Resolutions. Not only that, but you're 2 days strong. More than likely by the end of the week, you'll smell a cinnamon roll that somehow knows your name, and you're the only one that can hear it whispering sweet nothings into your ear... That'll be all she wrote for your "no sweet 19".
The beauty of resolutions isn't simply the challenge and inspiration to begin them; quite frankly it's the faithfulness to see it through. Once you've accomplished a minor goal, the easier it becomes to crush larger goals, no matter how incredibly difficult it may be. But in order to get to that place, there's a simple truth that we live by daily: COUNT THE COST.
Jesus said in Luke, "For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?" Before you begin anything new, it's wise to sit down and write the vision in thorough detail. When we go into the album creating process, there's months of preparation and wise counsel on the direction, cost, and heart behind the project. The same goes for your goals!
The secret isn't will power, crazy ridiculous self motivation, or spending money on internal discipline books. No! Simply count the cost. If you want something bad enough, you'll prepare for it.
